The Inner West Environment Group (IWEG) Links Callan Park Bushcare - is a bushcare group affiliated with IWEG and working in remnant bushland at Callan Point at the north east end of the GreenWay corridor, adjacent to King George Park, Cooks River Valley Association - The CRVA is an incorporated association made up of caring local residents who are committed to rehabilitating the Cooks River and fostering community spirit within the Cooks River Valley Friends of the GreenWay - community group supporting and promoting the Cooks River to Iron Cove GreenWay inthe Inner West of Sydney Frog & Tadpole Study Group NSW Inc. (FATS) - society of people based in New South Wales, Australia, who have a genuine interest in frogs and tadpoles Friends of Lane Cover River National Park - the Friends aim to: promote awareness of the significance of the Park's unique natural and cultural heritage; work for the protection and restoration of the ecosystems of Lane Cove National Park through bush regeneration; organise educational activities in the Park The Haberfield Association - The Haberfield Association was created in 1980 as a result of increased public awareness of the need to maintain Haberfield's special architectural and Garden Suburb character Marrickville Landcare - aims to restore remnants of native vegetation and provide opportunities for community involvement. New volunteers welcome - working bees on the fourth Sunday of the month, in various areas of parkland along the Cooks River. Marrickville Community Nursery - supplies plants for bush regeneration in the GreenWay corridor Mudcrabs - Cooks River Eco Volunteers - this community based group of volunteers meets every month to remove rubbish from the river, clean up the foreshores and weed, mulch and plant in designated areas of the river banks. Contact Peter Munro munropete@ozemail.com.au Rozelle Bay Community Nursery - Several community groups use the Rozelle Bay Community Native Nursery to propagate plants, to create local provenance plant corridors. The nursery in the past has been a source of local provenance plants for the GreenWay bushcare sites WIRES - the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Incorporated (WIRES) is the largest wildlife rescue organisation in Australia...rescuing animals in distress and by using education, research and the media we are helping to turn the tide and give our wildlife another chance |
